Welcome to First Steps
Our two Leicester settings welcome children aged 2–5 into caring, stimulating environments. We open during term time, Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm, offering a variety of sessions within these hours.
Learning through play
Our sessions follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We support personal, social and emotional development, communication and language, and physical development, alongside literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.
Through play and exploration, we offer a balanced curriculum that responds to children’s interests. Activities are carefully planned and monitored to help each child reach their full potential.
Both settings have an enclosed, secure outdoor area with a range of toys and equipment, giving children space to explore and enjoy active play.
Helping your child settle in
Once you have booked a space, we arrange up to two free pre-visits. Your child can spend a short time with us in the room while you complete the essential paperwork, helping us see how they settle.
After these visits, we confirm which sessions are available and most suitable for your child.
